THE APPLE TV CHALLENGE

I was fortunate enough to be blessed with the 7 day free subscription to the illustrious apple tv, featuring the morning show. This is their flagship drama to demonstrate the big league, which with 8 Emmy nomination. Now , I am a bit of a curmudgeon, and my favorite movies are citizen cain and there will be blood. I also enjoy dialogue that is whitty and the critical assessment of the current zeitgeist. So, I ave vowed to watch the entire cannon before my free week is up. It can be boring at times, but there are options I am already invested in. Tom Hanks and Reese Witherspoon, featuring Steve Carrel and Jennifer Anniston, Bill Murray, Quincy Jones’ talented daughter in a movie directed by Francis Ford Coppola’s niece in the wave of inherited stardom. But, these people are great actors, and I would say Dale Sr. and Dale Jr. are both hereditary talents. Dell and Stephen Curry are another example, so nepotism and genetic predisposition are often correlated. The SEO tags will be abundant.

 

MYTHIC QUEST IS PRETTY DOPE

This show is a mixture between Community, It’s Always Sunny, and Silicon Valley. Honestly, the pilots of al of these shows were slow, but this was necessary for character development. It was absolutely worth it. There were a multitude o dynamics, and a lot of diversity, but rather than being woke about it, they faced their problems with nazi’s, the tech gender gap, generational differences, and they resolved them in an honest and raw way without leaving some comedic catharsis to level the mood. It is an optimistic it’s always Sunny without being disingenuous. It’s Wes Anderson without film school with a contemporary social wit that makes Mythic Quest better than Bottle Rocket. I totally recommend it, except episode 10, which was Quarantine nonsense. I give it 1/2 perineum.

 

Ted Lasso: Feel Good Drama About A Man With A Heart of Gold…And He Can Coach

 

This is “Major League” except it involve an English Soccer Team and a college football coaching savant in Lasso played by Sedakis. I expected more comedy, which I got, but I fell in love with Ted Lasso. He is one part Ned Flanders, one part Carl Jung, and 100% a virtuous man of integrity. He begins to mend a Soccer team whose owner is et out to destroy the team to avenge her filandering X-husband. With an endless cast of interesting characters. It is welll worth the watch in an oversaturated market. I give it a C+
