To Carnivore Diet or Not

What is the Carnivore Diet?

Some call it the zero carb diet, others the meat only diet. Simply put, no grains, no vegetables.  And really not any meat, they want you to consume Beef and Water, that’s it.  I first learned about this lifestyle from Jordan Peterson and later from Shawn Baker on the Joe Rogan Podcast.  A lot of people on the carnivore diet have stomach issues, inflammation, gut issues, etc, the carnivore diet is the ultimate elimination diet.  People are seeing tremendous results.  The theory is it gives your gut a chance to start over along with a side product of mild Keto. I gave it a shot this fall after coming home from a long vacation of overindulging.


I tried the Carnivore Diet for 3 weeks.  My results were:

  • 15 lb weight loss
  • Much Improved Sleep
  • Way less time in the bathroom
  • Meal Prep is simple
  • Improved Libido
  • I missed Pizza, Pasta, and Bread
  • Decreased Muscle Strength
  • Increased Mental Focus

Coming off of the diet was painful, literally.  Really bad stomach pains the first time I ate nonmeat.  The reality is I do not have stomach issues so while I enjoyed the easy meal prep and other bonuses, it wasn’t 100% for me.  I think the best thing was the simple way to get yourself into Keto.
