Chicago is suing him for $130,000 which sounds really odd since they dropped the case. It’s a local matter, and everyone also knows Chicago is as crooked as it gets. If you live there, that’s your problem. In the end, should Smollett have gotten 20 years in prison? Hell No. He should have been fined for whatever the case cost + 25% ($162,500), 1-year probation, and 20 days of community service. Lesson learned for all of us and move on.
